The 100km and 50km routes wend their way through the Glendale area of Northumberland, skirting the Northumberland National Park and the high Cheviots. The landscape is in the main hilly with several steep ascents (and descents), but on the Milfield Plain and alongside the River Tweed, the topography is fairly level. This is arguably one of the most visually stunning ride of its kind in England with superb views of the High Cheviots from many different aspects, views of the beautiful Northumberland coast, and, of the Eildon and Lammermuir Hills in Scotland.
